The first time I heard this infectious hook

"IS LOVE MI WAH GIVE HAR"

I was like

"Who and what's that?!? DAT BAD!!!!"

Then it was a song with Undateka (Oriel) and a local hip hop artist De'von. I loved the hook but being a reggae head I only liked the verses (rap verses) . It was a project that Oriel was working for with our partners in crime over at AFAR MUSIC.

After several meetings, discussions and arguements and fights lol we all eventually agreed that this should be a 100% reggae song (and from yu say reggae it suddenly became a LAMAR CLAN project).

Initially I thought maybe I would do the verses then I thought of the best way to get the maximum exposure of not only the song but of Lamar Clan's soon to be sensation Oriel. It was I no brainer I immediately called Bugle and pitched the idea ....

I am on a plane to Pittsburgh. I was in Boston for 24 hours ... working with less than 4 hours sleep yet I cant seem to sleep on this flight ...

I never really put a lotta of thought into why this was ... I was quite content with conquering all the spoils that always seemed available to "BAD" guys such as myself .....

Hey its a long flight so let's put some thought into it :)

If you called my phone over the last few weeks and made it to my voicemail, you probably heard me ranting and raving about my at that time upcoming event "STARS AMONGST STARS"

     You probably heard me say things like "You Gotta Come Clean" "Your best outfit isn't good enough" "If you not a star then don't come and embarrass yourself" ...

     Well Star's amongst Stars was the brainchild of my partner Mikey Congress and when the idea was presented to me I ran with it because as you know, Gyalsta love get clean.

     During the promotion process I had my doubts about patrons following the theme as we have had theme parties before and the majority usually did not participate.

     Stars amongst Stars however was not the average party, It seemed like people were looking for a reason to get "fly" cause everybody and they uncle was clean!!!!!!!

    The atmosphere and the whole vibe of the night was special , The Red Carpet was graced by Couples, singles ... groups, friends ... who took turns posing for pics and or saying there piece on the mic whether they were being interviewed or in my case ... just had some things to say :) The music which was provided by One Blood Sound from outta Chicago was on point... as they delighted the crowd with a wide range of hits ... from the popular oldies to the song dem dat a run di place right now ... dem even squeeze in few Springer tunes. lol mi hot ...

What a night !!! STARS AMONGST STARS .. in my opinion was the party of the year so far in Pittsburgh PA,

A few months back some selector from NY link mi for dubs, mi shot couple song fi him and he asked if I could help him voice some other artists.

We link Mega Banton and boom ... dude got his dubs no problem.

A few weeks later him say he wanted TWO songs from Singer J. The one song that everybody voice (Not afraid shot a battybwoy) and he wanted to voice a song that Singer J voiced in combination with Danny English.

Mi link Singer J and he assured me that he worked fast and had no time for bullshit because he didn't want any negative attachments to his "excellent" reputation. Hearing this from the artist was refreshing to me as it led me to believe that this would be a seemless transaction.

Mi ask him di price him say US$200 per song and him say send US$200 for Danny English (he claimed he had already talked to English) . I relayed the message to the sound and it was not a problem.

The money was sent and after about 3 days Singer J sent back 3 songs, his one big song, di song he did with English but English wasn't on the dub and another song that God knows who would even keep that on their hard drive.

We link di singer him say " English nah ansa him phone" he added that if we were patient he would get English and send up the correct dubplate since he still had the money.

It came to a point where he refused to give us Danny English's phone number, he stopped answering our call, and I'm sure you can figure out the rest.

Somebody need to make English know say other artists a slander him and take him food.

People always say that I have a good ear for music and a good eye for talent...

Some of my friends can recall me telling dem to voice a yute name Bugle and that him aggo blow big (a lot of those friends regret not taking my advice)

The same can be said about a yute name Munga .and another one name Charly Black ... ask di people dem in Pittsburgh if yu no believe me

I think because of this many young and upcoming artists tend to reach out to me at times, whether it be for collaborations, opportunities to voice on lamar clan riddims or just help and advice in general about promotion and getting your name out there. More establish artists contact me for help with Dub Programs, securing and or seeking dates in cities that I have contacts and or assistance in blasting songs etc (big up to each and every one of you on my email list you are appreciated)

Recently Ricky Blair, a good friend of mine, asked me to check out an artist from my place (Westmoreland). His name was J-Yungg the Greensman and he, according to Blair, had a song that Ron Muschette (Irie FM) played religiously every morning.

My intitial response was "J- Who ??" "Di green wah?" "My lord a Lamar Clan mi ting deh.. no have no time fi check out Jay Di Green Man, wah kinda fucking name is that anyways?!?"

"J-yungg" he went on to explain to me was, "a rapper who lives in Jamaica."
Even that kinda turned me off cause me a say "a reggae and dancehall mi ting deh!!!"

Mi haffi bless up Ricky Blair cause somehow he got me to listen to the song and I was impressed as you will be after you listen to the song.

His style is unique it can be described as hip hop influenced dancehall or dancehall influenced hip hop (whichever makes you feel better) but regardless di man style siiiiik as I-Octane would say. Catchy hook, strong lyrical content ... mad flows .. and inflections ...

The song "Moving Up" made me proud. Proud that this quality music was coming from "my place" and reggae country club in jamaica couldn't lock it out.

This prompted me to seek more info on the "greensman" as he calls himself

And after our initial hour plus conversation all I can say is J-Yungg the greensman is a talented young Jamaican musician , who has huge cross-over potential, is well grounded , focused, loyal to his team and ready for take his piece of the music pie.

In my journey I have met, communicated with, encountered many people of many walks of life. I have been to Europe a few times, Asia several times, The Caribbean (obviously) and various cities and towns in North America and all the other places that don't fall in these geographic locations I have access to their residents via the web.

As kids we all had big dreams, and for most of us, as we grew older our dreams got smaller and for some of us our dreams went away.

Common excuses are:

"LIFE GOT IN THE WAY" or "WE HAD TO GROW UP"

Someone told me this (I'm not sure who) but I am going to tell it to you

"NOT ALL DREAMS COME TRUE, BUT DREAMS NEVER DREAMT NEVER COME TRUE"

Every success story began with a dream, Every Skyscraper you see, every successful person, every amazing invention you see

SO WHAT IS YOUR DREAM?

Many people claim they want success but don't have a clue about what it is they want to be successful at. You have to know where you are going in order to make the necessary preparations for the trip so take the time to figure out what you really want.

You have to want it so bad that you get excited about it. THE THOUGHT OF SUCCESS SHOULD EXCITE YOU, this is very important because it is this excitement and desire that will help you in the times when you feel like quitting. (and there will be times)

If you are an artist, a DJ, a writer or most fields progress involves exposing more people to your work, i.e. the more people that know about and appreciate your work the better.

I am not trying to imply that I'm a success in dancehall but I do have fans (no matter how small a number) all over the world, and my music is being played in various countries around the world.

I started this less than 5 years ago in Pittsburgh PA being basically an unknown who didn't even know how to mix two songs.

I am no where near my goals by a stretch of the imagination but I do know the importance of continuously reaching out to new people.

When I was marketing my first song "pussy good" I had the mentality that no one is going to help me so if I have to give this song to everyone in the world personally I was going to do it.

so I started reaching out to as much people that I could on all the available social networks, I had cd giveaways everywhere I went, I voiced dubplates for DJs with influence and or DJs with potential.

This wasn't a problem because I did and still do, just as you do now, have access to everybody in the world, right from home at my desk.

Get It?

If you are an aspiring musician like me, get your music in front of new people every day, if you are an aspiring writer get your work in front of new people everyday, if you are a plumber .... get your business card (your business) in front of new people everyday.

The more people you expose the better your results are

Set a benchmark to keep track of your progress (eg. if you benchmark is 3 people a day, a 5 person day is a great day)

Way more people will reject you than accept you (look at me I'm your resident dancehall reject lol)

But that doesn't matter as long as you do what it takes to get to those who will

I have so much to say, pursuing success is one of my favourite topics

But I am not writing a novel

CHANGES.... SWITCHING ... GOOD BAD INDIFFERENT?

"The Definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting the results to vary"

This is an overly used cliche that we may have all heard before but we all at times seem to disregard its simple logic.

We have been taught that "don't change" , "doh switch", "stay real" as if all this is synonymous, people would have you think that change is bad and or frowned upon.

Change is the few inevitable things in life , especially since growth is change, progress is change, "learning from your mistakes" is change.

Do you honestly want to be in the same situation you are in now, five years from now?

If your situation now is the same as it was 5 years ago, how happy would that make you?

So change to me looks like something that we should all aspire to achieve.

Sometimes change is something that you have to consciously pursue, sometimes change requires effort

if you are unsuccessful now and you aspire to "change" or be successful its going to take some effort but it starts with the conscious decision to change or to be a success

this is a poem I wrote (when I wrote poetry)

Success or Failiure?

 Which one do we choose? 

Do we choose to be happy? 

Or we like singing the blues?  

Winner or loser? 

Which word best describes? 

Do we like our situations? 

Or are we wasting our lives?

  Change or continue? 

Which word makes more sense?

 Will the present be the future? 

Or will it tomorrow be past tense?  

These questions & answers are decided each day 

But look at our situations, are we as smart as we say?

  Before we get offended, we should hear our inner voice 

The message is very clear 

"SUCCESS IS A CHOICE !"

Let me say that in my opinion having alot of money and business success and your personal and family life is a mess is not TRUE SUCCESS

A successful person has that balance of career success and personal and family success.

This weekend for me has been an eye opener or should I say a reminder to open my eyes.

Why do we often have 20 20 vision and can't see

Why do we often have perfect hearing but can't hear and or listen

Why are we so smart and don't think

why do we love so hard and act like we don't care

The new year is approaching fast and I'm not making any resolutions I am aspiring to change

I want fans who don't like derogatory music, I want to drive with my mom and listen some Springer (so I'll have to be more rounded)

I don't want to have one of the highest unfollower rates on twitter (so I need to be more weary of peoples feelings)

I want to be a positive influence on my friends, fans and acquaintances (I need more blogs like this one)

I want to write more, sing more, perform more, promote more, record more (so I need to quit acting like I already made it)

But most of all I want to make sure home is OK, I've been neglecting home ever since I lived there

Sometimes I feel like I don't live there lol

but home is where the heart is, and its a shame the things that often have to happen for us,(me) to realize and embrace this

My friends join me and aspire to change, Aspire to be more than you are now, decide to succeed in all facets of your life

To me a person's word is their bond, If your word is not reliable you are not the type of person that I aspire to deal with, professionally or otherwise.

If you are broke... I am the type of friend that would text you a control number from western union

If you are going through personal problems, I'm the type of friend who can at least always provide a listening ear and a shoulder to cry on.

Most of the people I deal with in the dancehall community, I consider my friends (and the previous 3 statements apply to them)

Since I have been involved in dancehall, I have put together a fairly big network of artists, dancers, selectors and dancehall personalities. Most of whom I consider to be friends. I had an experience this past weekend though that has me re-evaluating how easily I give an individual the title of "trusted friend"

This past saturday I was booked for a dance in Virginia Beach called Pum Pum Audition. Accompanying me was 2 female dancers from Cleveland and a few dancers from Pittsburgh.
Friday I received a phone call that re-arranged my plans (The Cleveland girls couldn't make it)

This was a predicament because as much as I know that people in VA wanted to see me, I know that without some crazy female dancers the Pum Pum Audition just wouldn't be the same.

So I made a few calls to see if I could get some last minute replacements.

Friday evening I spoke to Tasheka Johnson aka Sheka "Famous" on her cellphone 1-201-898-7994 (house 347-587-1869) I explained my situation. She assured me that she could do it, I should buy 2 bus tickets and wire her $US 100 on that Saturday morning.

Sheka called me 9:30am that saturday morning to see when I would send the money. I sent the money about 10am and waited for confirmation from my dancing "friend" that she had received it.

At about noon after not hearing from her, I called. Someone answered the phone and informed me that "her daughter" was not coming to VA because she didn't get permission. At this point my only response was "No Problem"

I called western union to get my money back they informed me that it had been picked up at 10:15 am in Brooklyn.

I called Sheka's phone and It was explained to me by "the mom" that I didn't ask her permission to send "her daughter" any money so why am I calling about it.

Again my response was "No Problem"

I was somewhat, disappointed, surprised and upset, that my "good good friend" would set up such an elaborate scheme to steal $US 100.

these texts made me chuckle, I wish she had told me prior that she was the "RONG BYTCH" as she so eloquently put it lol

Sheka dear I don't need the $US 100 as much as you do, and the name and city it came from is probably my name and my city. Hooked on Phonics wasn't available for everyone so I feel your pain and I understand.

As a friend you may suggest that if this woman is so negative or makes you so unhappy you might wanna explore other options.

Carnival , soca music, calypso and all these things have never been something I paid much attention to.

A lot of reggae heads probably go to NYC's labour day parade or Toronto's Caribana and have a great old time and yet hardcore reggae people still don't really claim soca as one of there favourite music or even as something that they like.

Me personally I have many friends from all over the caribbean and I have been known to play a little soca segment at maybe a college party or if I wanna mix it up a little at BCIF. And when I say "little" I mean "little" lol my soca segment has been the same set of songs for over 5 years with may 1 or 2 adjustments, (Kevin Lytttle, Rupee - Tempted to Touch & Jump, Roll it Gyal, Mamacita just to name a few)

Bottom line Soca anno really my ting (Straight reggae/ dancehall mi say)

Forward to Summer 2k10

After years of declining I decided to accept and invitation to Boston Carnival (which would entail a weekend of straight soca music and parties). This year my schedule was free and I decided to go outside of my box.

Lemme tell you this when they say,

"No sleep til Monday!"

They mean that shit

I'm not going to draw this out with all the details of my weekend but lemme just say:

I got to Boston Friday we went to a Body Paint party which was over at 2am den we start pree some after parties
Saturday morning we up at 6am to go to Jouvert (a pre- carnival road march)
Around 1pm we go home for an hour then back on the road for carnival until about 8pm
At 10:30 pm we on the road again going to an Annual Camoflauge Party which again done at 2am the after party preements
Sunday morning by 10 am we on our way to a Soca boatride til 3pm then Sunday evening various cook outs and a party called last lap.

I'm a party person, believe me....

BUT I COULDN'T HANG!!

Along the way I realized that soca music is happy music and its audience transcends age. Its the first time I've ever seen old people and young people partying together (not posing like at reggae parties, but dancing and galavanting) and not in individual segments but none stop vibes

I also realized that Trinidadians can drink and ain't no shame in there game lol

And I now can palance, chip on the pavement, sell pipe, wine on anything,jump with no behaviour, invite girls to jump on my jumpa cable....

I have always had the stance that every man who straight cheats, but I also think that women are way better cheaters. Most men get caught up at some point but I know women personally who have cheated for years and never get caught.

The subject at hand was a woman who cheated on her man with a mutual friend. My stance was you cannot blame the man mainly because

This topic is very offensive to me

But some of the people reading this need to cut the bullshit because they contribute to this mentality.

Every morning I walk three miles for excersize purposes as well as to clear my mind and think about various things.

This morning I was texting a friend back and forth and she said something to me that was very disturbing

"My daughter thinks that all Jamaican men touch and make sexual advances to under age girls"

I am a naturalized citizen of the United States of America but cut the crap I am and will always be a Jamaican Man

not only that I'm a Jamaican man who openly admits to being a whore

but hold the fuck up!!!!!!!

Child Molestor ? Pedefile?

Certain words should not even be affiliated with me in no way shape or form

I am into women (grown women!!!!!) and many other Jamaican men I'm sure share my sentiments!

Why would this young lady have such a negative image of "Jamaican men"

- Maybe cause she is under 18 and 75% of the jamaican men she has encountered since puberty has tried something inappropriate

- Maybe she has seen Jamaican men in there 30s and beyond date girls 16 and under

- Maybe she has been to Jamaica and seen young girls 16 and under with babies to grown Jamaican men

- Maybe she knows young girls (friends) who have been abused by jamaican men, maybe she has herself

I am speculating but as I speculate it angers me because I know men who would fall in one or more of these scenarios

At times our inspirations comes from the most unexpected places.

"Real friends never change" This was the title of a party that was held in Pittsburgh recently a party that I told people to attend, one that I wasn't planning on attending, one that I honestly never took the time to read the flyer thoroughly enough to even notice how true and inspiring the title was.

To be honest I didnt even notice the title.

Lets think about this for a minute:

REAL FRIENDS NEVER CHANGE

I'm sure if we all think about this we may come up with different interpretations of this bold statement, we may not all even agree with this statement.

I think you cannot be too literal when brainstorming this.

Everybody changes, You are not the same today as you were 10 years ago and to be quite honest if you were it would mean that you haven't progressed. So change when it comes to people is as inevitable as aging and dying.

So it would be an accurate statement if I say "All friends change" (which would seem contradictory to my title)

So let us elaborate on our title and say "ALL FRIENDS CHANGE BUT REAL FRIENDS REMAIN FRIENDS IN THE MIDST OF ALL THE CHANGES"

I started my career in music about 6 years ago and a DJ who could barely mix who was too shy to talk on the mic, Today I am known by many, I have played music in many places all over the world, I can mix, MC and keep a party moving by myself and I even have song songs that get rotation in dancehalls all over the world.

My Japan trip from hell for lack of a better comparison

As y'all know I have been to Japan more than 12 times in the last three years, initially because my son and his mom resided in Yokohama City and I paid the bills so I may as well sleep at the house every now and then :o). This also gave me the opportunity to network and start doing a lotta shows in Japan. I was and still am an advocate of visiting and supporting Japan. The people are nice the culture is rich and enthralling. They embraced reggae music and jamaican culture like no where I have ever seen. So for Jamaicans or reggae lovers in general Japan is an ideal travel destination.

Lets forward to present time April 2010. My relationship with my son's mother Rie Matsuo has gone south. She doesn't let me talk to my son as much and or see him via skype and or other messengers. She moved out of "our" apartment to an undisclosed address. My son's birthday is April 8th and my most recent trip to Japan was supposed to be a special one because:

1. I would get to spend his birthday with him for the first time in Japan

2. I was performing (not DJing) at Emergency a big bi-monthly dance at the Yokohama Bayhall

The trip started off kinda rocky, Rie informed us the day of the trip via email that she would be unable to pick us up (my brother Evan and myself) at the airport because she had to work. No problem since I've been to Japan so many times I new how to get around, so we took the Ycat bus to Yokohama City, then a train to the station closest to our "hotel" that she recommended and we reserved.

When we got to the hotel we found out that it was actually not a hotel but a "hostel". When dude told me that I was like,

"Yow I've seen that movie B!!!"

The rooms were tiny with a lil bed and a TV, the bathrooms were coin operated, 100Yen for 4 minutes and the had a lounge if you wanted internet, you had to change your own sheets, and a whole bunch of other stuff that the proprietor claimed was "European Style".

And to make matters worse when we linked up with our friends Captain C, Bigga C, Barba they informed us that the spot was in the garrison and it wasn't a good idea to stay there. smh Go figure. Thanks Rie !

We obviously had to make new accomodations

The next day we rented a car. Captain C cosigned and they took my drivers license (my PA drivers license) copied it , we purchased the insurance, got the lil Mazda and went on our way. Evan and I then went to the Totsuka area to visit some of Rie's family (she wasnt taking our calls).

That same day we were in a car accident, a collision at an intersection both cars were totalled. The people in the other car were rushed to the hospital and myself and Evan were left by the cars to wait for the police. I was later informed that we werent taking to the hospital because we were standing and the emergency personel didn't speak english. [ I guess they just knew we didn't speak japanese by looking at us, since they said absolutely nothing to us]

But to make a long story short, my left knee was swollen (it still is), Rie was forced to leave her busy job and come talk to the police and the "investigation" started.

Few days went by I limped around to a few parties, Rie was giving us the run around about seeing Jr, and I had to go to the Totsuka Station to make a statement.
I was there for 3 + fucking hours, they asked me about high school, college all my jobs in my life.... At first I was very cooperative until they asked about my international license. When I answered they told me I was lying and started mentioning "GENEVA"

Mi say to mi self "WAIT!!! IF DEM PUSSY YA NO TRUST MI WHY MI FI TRUST DEM?"

So mi tell dem say mi withdraw di whole statement unless someone I knew eg Captain C can read it to me to verify that it represents what I said and they declined.

I went back another day but this time I printed and signed my own statement in english and brought it with me. I was there for another 3 + hours because for them my statement wasn't sufficient and they had to make up their own Japanese statement. Just a few short years ago everybody was into myspace, facebook, Hi5, Tagged etc

All of these are social networks are somewhat very similar, some people use them for networking, some for business, some seeking relationships, some just because everybody else is doing it.

Today Twitter seems to be taking over.Everbody is tweeting, from the biggest business down to the big breast girl that works at Pizza Hut has a twitter page.

Let me tell you about my first experience with twitter.

As most of y'all know I use reverbnation to keep in touch with my fans, friends and contacts via my email list.

I remember reverbnation giving me the option to use twitter to update my status, so I signed up not knowing what I was really doing. I imported some friends and every now and then I tweeted just to update my reverbnation page.

Thats how I started but I honestly can't tell you how I became the avid tweeter that I am today with my 17,300 + tweets as of today.

Lets break it down. When you tweet you basically type what you are doing?

That's it!!!!

So you might ask yourself what is the big deal, well whoever thought up twitter was actually a genius. Let me tell you why.

We all in some levels have narcissistic qualities, We all love our selves and in essence love talking about ourselves and we all like to believe that people give a fuck about what we are doing, thinking, planning, promoting etc

So twitter gave us all the medium to quench our desire to tell people what we are doing

Its gets deeper than that, unlike other social networks where individuals are mutual friends, twitter has a follow, follower system. So you have to follow somebody, and if they choose to they can follow you back or not.In many instances you will see someone with thousands of followers but that person is only following a few 100 people

eg. @RevRunWisdom has 780,000+ followers but he follows 0 people

again with this feature twitter plays to your ego, many people want as much followers as they can but really don't want to follow that many people

SOME PEOPLE WILL EVEN GO TO THE EXTENT OF FOLLOWING YOU AND THEN UNFOLLOW YOU WHEN YOU FOLLOW THEM TO "APPEAR" IMPORTANT eg @MRNUHSEHNUTTIN

So it was inevitable that twitter with the correct promotion would've been a success, since it strokes your ego and if you manage to build a sizable followship it is a great tool for marketing, promotion and networking.

If you are new to twitter you have to remember certain things.

1. Twitter is public, anything you tweet even if it is a response to someone specific, anybody can go to your twitter page and see it.

2. Making your page private defeats the purpose, its twitter for crying out loud, if your page is private only those you follow you can see your tweets, therefore it is impossible to network, if you try reaching out to someone the will not see your tweets. I personally dislike following private twitter accounts because a) I can't see what kinda things you tweet about (to decide whether or not you are worth following) and b) I don't feel like I should have to ask you for permission to follow you (who the hell do you think you are?)

3. If you not tweeting now you gonna be on twitter in the near future (trust me) so just give in and go to twitter.com and sign up

4. Tweet from your phone, most phones have twitter apps that make the tweeting experience favourable, almost everybody who is anybody has twitter, and twitter is real time, so think about twitter offers you the opportunity to connect with say "Shaquille Oneal" @THE_REAL_SHAQ [Yu can send a message to Shaq phone or almost anybody yu can think of if they tweet]

Bottom line Twitter is genius, its the new way to get information real time and to share information real time, it is single handedly the fastest growing social network in the history of social networks. Get with it and make sure you following me @FUDGIESPRINGER .

What is a friend? and why does our culture seem to condemn friendship?
Let me make this very clear there are various types of friends.

NEW FRIENDS

Is there a time period when its OK to make friends? Its been my observation that when an individual is down he has no problem getting friends and help from "new" friends but when this same individual starts having some form of progress making "new" friends is undesirable.
What is the logic behind this? I have always thought this was one of the stupidest things that was always promoted in dancehall.

This brought me to the conclusion that:

a) Most men do not approve of women being promiscuous, when settling down a man wants to know that the girl he is courting is "wife" material. It may be possible for a promiscuous woman to settle down (in my opinion) but it can be something that presents a major problem when a woman comes to this point. Think about it a formerly promiscuous woman when asked how many sex partners she has had by her prospective "soul mate" always blatantly lies because she knows men place great value on a woman's sexual restraint

b) women would all be promiscuous is it were not for three things "pregnancies" "diseases" "reputation" . If none of these were and issue what would stop every woman from sleeping with every and any person they wanted to ?

Recently I evaluated my career and found that in Jamaica my fanbase is lacking especially when compared to various markets in the USA and Europe. There are many factors that contribute to that
i) I dont work with the recognized "big" producers, Lamar Clan mi say and Unda Teka Productions so for me to get a song heard it takes 10 times the effort (Unda Teka mi bredda this will only make it sweeter when we reach where we definately will reach, Mi people nothing worth having comes easy, I could write an entire blog about our struggles trying to get our music "to the world" for lack of a better phrase)
ii) I live in the USA (Pittsburgh PA) I can elaborate a lot on this but let me throw the ball emphatically in your court since you are on my email list. WHICH DANCEHALL ARTIST DO YOU KNOW BUSS FROM THE US ? (Only person mi can come up with is Flippa who basically lives in Jamaica)
iii) Not enough radio friendly songs, I have radio edits for all my songs but in Jamaica with the new rules I need radio versions (not that I would get nuff strength radio due to the previously mentioned factors but this itself is still a factor)

I read somewhere (Yes I do read) about a man who's goal was to change the world. His whole life he strived to achieve this goal and on his death bed he made some astounding realizations. He realized that such a seemingly enormous goal could only be achieved in stages, If he had at first tried to change himself, then maybe his new found self would influence in family and in turn he could've changed his family. With their support he probably could have had the means to change his community, A positive change in his community could have been noticed by other commnities which could have led to him changing his country and then the world.

Large goals are great but when working towards them breaking them down into smaller and seemingly more attainable goals is definately the way to go.

Insanity in my opinion is doing the same exact thing repeatedly and expect different things to happen.
These two things are the motivation behind my current project in Jamaica. SPRINGER SUNDAYZ.
I wont get into too much detail, as I think it will make itself evident in months to come. You know say my ting is to big up women of all walks of life. There is a certain demographic of women who rarely get the recognition and accolades that they deserve "GROUPIES".

They have various names, titles some more "derogative" than others but in my eyes these women are very important and need to know that I am a big fan.

A GHETTO BICYCLE BY DEFINITION: is a woman who every man in the "hood" if you will has ridden. Now this may seem initially to be a terrible way to describe a woman. A woman reading this may take offense to what I am saying. There are varying levels of what could be referred to as a "bicycle" the biggest ghetto bicycles are not even from the ghetto. They are often the "hot girls" who flex with the "hot man" dem and wear all the "hot clothes" them dat nuff a di little regular man dem want her but cant get. Don't be fooled...

I think ghetto bicycles on all levels are important to mankind and I am going to point out a few reasons shortly but lets first categorize our beloved "bicylces".

Firstly you have the basic "Ghetto Bicycle" she just like to fuck, she don't really go for any specific type of man, she just like dash out di ting.
Then you have the "Gold Diggers" they dash out dem hole but generally to men who have money, and or some type of position, occasionally dem will fuck a regular man but for the most part dem fuck di top man dem.

Lets talk about them individually

1. Basic Ghetto bicycle:

2. Gold Diggers

Artists depending on there level of success tend to be always traveling, (eg. I am currently in the UK on a small tour) on these travels they meet obviously all different types of women. BILSTON TO BEDFORD: MY FIRST EVER PERFORMANCE IN THE UK

My first ever performance in the UK was in Bilston Saturday night (Princess Promotions) I got to the club bout 3:15 am (fashionable late) to a welcome surprise the venue was ram, and di selector dem did a deal wid di place wikkid. Everybody know say a promotion me say so I did my regular ting hand out promotional LAMAR CLAN cds to the female patrons.
It was funny when this sexy girl asked me "what time is Fudgie Springer coming?" ... I chuckled and told her "I don't know... I'm surprised he isn't here yet." and continued about my business handing out cds

2. ACACIA

I had the honour of being one of the judges in the most recent dancehall queen competition in Detroit. I noticed the MC introduced Acacia from California. It was a white girl (I apologize for saying this but because of that reason I didnt expect too much) Dem drop Charly Black song Buddy Buddy and this girl killed it. Mad Energy, talent , flexibilty.. Y'all already knew what I thought.. "A wonder if dah gyal yah can fuck like dat??"

After the competition was ended prematurely I had a chance to speak to her and what she said amazed me.

She had flew from California to detroit just to compete in that competition, and further more she planned to fly to Minnesota, Chicago and Washington DC to enter their respective dancehall queen competitions. And win lose or draw she was going to fly to Montego Bay Jamaica to compete in the International DHQ competition in August. She reminded me of myself in more ways than one.

How could you not admire such determination? How could I not route for a person such as this?
