A WHORE SEEN AT CARNIVAL

Carnival , soca music, calypso and all these things have never been something I paid much attention to.

A lot of reggae heads probably go to NYC's labour day parade or Toronto's Caribana and have a great old time and yet hardcore reggae people still don't really claim soca as one of there favourite music or even as something that they like.

Me personally I have many friends from all over the caribbean and I have been known to play a little soca segment at maybe a college party or if I wanna mix it up a little at BCIF. And when I say "little" I mean "little" lol my soca segment has been the same set of songs for over 5 years with may 1 or 2 adjustments, (Kevin Lytttle, Rupee - Tempted to Touch & Jump, Roll it Gyal, Mamacita just to name a few)

Bottom line Soca anno really my ting (Straight reggae/ dancehall mi say)

Forward to Summer 2k10

After years of declining I decided to accept and invitation to Boston Carnival (which would entail a weekend of straight soca music and parties). This year my schedule was free and I decided to go outside of my box.

Lemme tell you this when they say,

"No sleep til Monday!"

They mean that shit

I'm not going to draw this out with all the details of my weekend but lemme just say:

  1. I got to Boston Friday we went to a Body Paint party which was over at 2am den we start pree some after parties
  2. Saturday morning we up at 6am to go to Jouvert (a pre- carnival road march)
  3. Around 1pm we go home for an hour then back on the road for carnival until about 8pm
  4. At 10:30 pm we on the road again going to an Annual Camoflauge Party which again done at 2am the after party preements
  5. Sunday morning by 10 am we on our way to a Soca boatride til 3pm then Sunday evening various cook outs and a party called last lap.

I'm a party person, believe me....

BUT I COULDN'T HANG!!

Along the way I realized that soca music is happy music and its audience transcends age. Its the first time I've ever seen old people and young people partying together (not posing like at reggae parties, but dancing and galavanting) and not in individual segments but none stop vibes

I also realized that Trinidadians can drink and ain't no shame in there game lol

And I now can palance, chip on the pavement, sell pipe, wine on anything, jump with no behaviour, invite girls to jump on my jumpa cable....

SOCA MAD!!!

its like a daggerer's dream , the women are sexy and can wine their asses off, they drink a whole lot and they don't mind to "Get on bad!"

Big up all my friends that are deep in the soca world, Ashley , Skerrit Bwoy, Problem Child, Hypa Bajen ... A whoring yute join the team zeen

I am Fudgie Springer from dancehall, dutty fridaze, whoring and touring and I found out in Boston that..

I LIKE SOCA MUSIC

THE WORLD DOES NOT REVOLVE AROUND YOU

I was told this recently by a person who was trying to express their "lack of fondness" for me

the person never like me!!!

At first I was kinda upset

"Who the fuck are you to be saying such things to me?"

This however was a primary example why emotional responses and or reactions are generally the worst ones especially when something is deemed negative.

The truth of the matter is this person was right!

The world does not revolve around me

I may want it to

I may act like it do

but it doesn't and it never will

The more I thought about this cliche

The more revelations came to me

The world doesn't revolve around my eloquent acquaintance (I wont misuse the word friend) either

And my dear reader , I hope you are sitting down because, guess what.......

THE WORLD DOESN'T REVOLVE AROUND YOU...

We all are naturally narcissistic, we all love ourselves and we all like when others praise us, compliment us, look up to us...

It is therefore very easy to create a false image of our self, its very easy to think that we are more than we actually are

It is easy to get carried away the the "hype" or the "hoopla"

We all seem to be naturally defensive also, eg. we deny love due to fear of hurt, we at time takes offense to general statements, when others don't share our point of views we often view them as the "enemy" or the "opposition"

But It's very important to always remember

THE WORLD DOESN'T REVOLVE AROUND YOU...

  • Selectors if you are at an event and the sound playing makes a speech about fake friends or badmind people then plays a hot song about that topic don't be offended because thats the only way to introduce such a song.

  • Artists, If a selector doesn't like your songs or doesn't play your songs that doesn't mean they are against you

  • Ladies if a man who is courting you tells you that you are the most beautiful woman he has ever met that doesn't mean that you are hotter or a better catch than every other woman in the world.

  • Reader, If you don't like this article and you generally just can't stand Fudgie Springer, that doesn't mean I'm going to stop writing, singing or spinning and I'm definitely not going to lose any sleep if you confirm these feelings.

THE WORLD DOESN'T REVOLVE AROUND YOU...

ONE MAN TO DI PUM PUM (myth or reality??)

Ladies have you ever cheated before?

Please don't be offended if I tell you that I already know the answer

Lets try another question:

Will you cheat in the future?

If I was a betting man I would say both questions have the same answer.

The funny thing about this is, most women (probably including you) would disagree with or maybe even find my words insulting.

Why??????

Is it conscience ? is it guilt ? are you in denial ?

Think about my words, if need be, take the time to re-read my words

Why did you assume that my speculated answer to both questions was "YES" when it could have been simply "NO" ?

Lets revisit the title

ONE MAN TO DI PUM PUM (myth or reality) ?

This is a popular song done by new music sensation Gaza Slim

I chuckle when I think about the following question:

How many people think that Gaza Slim is only sleeping with one man?

and in the parties how many of the women who react to this song are keeping it real?

I have had the "luxury" if you will of being on all sides of this issue. I have been the man she is cheating with, I have been the man she cheated on and in all fairness I have been the man she is faithful to (the last instance is the least common).

I have always had the stance that every man who straight cheats, but I also think that women are way better cheaters. Most men get caught up at some point but I know women personally who have cheated for years and never get caught.

This is scary to a man who knows (thinks he knows) that he has a special, faithful woman at home.

I had a discussion recently with a young lady and it was very disturbing to me

The subject at hand was a woman who cheated on her man with a mutual friend. My stance was you cannot blame the man mainly because

1. She was the one in the relationship

2. It is very difficult for a man to turn down pussy (we ain't gay)

  • Her stance was that a woman can do what ever a man can do sexually.
  • Her stance was if a woman gets a sexual offer (which most women get several everyday) if she feels like fucking she gonna fuck.

She was 100% right. But guess what...

I don't think any man wants a woman who thinks that way.

  • Ask the men who fuck the most women if they want a woman who thinks like that and we all know the answer.
  • Ask a man who can and will be committed to one woman if he want's a woman who thinks like that

Call us hypocrites....

whatever!

but Beenie Man said it best in his song on Stephen Mcgregor's catalog riddim

"A woman cannot do what a man does and still be considered a good woman"

One Man to di pum pum ?

If you are a woman only you can accurately answer this and no matter what you decided I still love you

"JAMAICAN MEN ARE CHILD MOLESTORS!" WTF!?!

This topic is very offensive to me

But some of the people reading this need to cut the bullshit because they contribute to this mentality.

Every morning I walk three miles for excersize purposes as well as to clear my mind and think about various things.

This morning I was texting a friend back and forth and she said something to me that was very disturbing

"My daughter thinks that all Jamaican men touch and make sexual advances to under age girls"

I am a naturalized citizen of the United States of America but cut the crap I am and will always be a Jamaican Man

not only that I'm a Jamaican man who openly admits to being a whore

but hold the fuck up!!!!!!!

Child Molestor ? Pedefile?

Certain words should not even be affiliated with me in no way shape or form

I am into women (grown women!!!!!) and many other Jamaican men I'm sure share my sentiments!

Why would this young lady have such a negative image of "Jamaican men"

- Maybe cause she is under 18 and 75% of the jamaican men she has encountered since puberty has tried something inappropriate

- Maybe she has seen Jamaican men in there 30s and beyond date girls 16 and under

- Maybe she has been to Jamaica and seen young girls 16 and under with babies to grown Jamaican men

- Maybe she knows young girls (friends) who have been abused by jamaican men, maybe she has herself

I am speculating but as I speculate it angers me because I know men who would fall in one or more of these scenarios

you probably know a few a dem too

I found this one article "Too many sexual predators in Jamaica" and it read and I quote:

"Young girls living in inner-city settings come upon an understanding of the utility value of sex long before their counterparts in uptown suburbia do. Many do not have the benefit of brand-name high school tutoring and two-parent households, so they observe their mothers and her movements and know that with every new "uncle" the household will eat better in the coming week.

To compound the problem, many of the men who grew up in the inner city did not have the benefit of proper socialisation, either by way of a viable family unit or through a reasonably well delivered education process. So some simply do not know how to approach a woman in the search for sex. Having limited skills in this area, their focus moves to girls of 12, 13, 14 years of age and it is then that the problem catapults itself into statutory rape (where only a small percentage of men doing it are ever prosecuted) and into abduction, violent rape and murder.

There are many uptown men who visit downtown dances specifically to pick up underage girls for sex. It is the biggest open secret. It is not my understanding that this type of sexual predation leads to violent rape although, under the law, it is rape. What usually happens is that because of the poor supervision by mothers and/or the financial ease or benefit the mother believes she will get from the unholy and illegal union, uptown men indulge in sex with these underage girls and not only get away with it but are, in instances, lauded for "helping out the family"

I hated reading that article because it's hard to dispute what it says, It doesn't make the case of the "moral" jamaican man any stronger. Fudgie Springer aka di gyal dem whore is far from being an angel but I am not a monster who can hide behind lack of education or poverty to justify robbing children of their childhood.

Some man tell me say "Look pon her ! Yu no see say a big woman dat? " even when her birth certificate proves that she is not.

It makes we wonder if when a MALE CROSS DRESSER do up him ting and look like a big sexy woman if these same man would be interested?

There are a lot of beautiful adult women in the world, Let the children be children

My name is Fudgie Springer and I'm a proud Jamaican Man and I do not put children in sexually inappropriate situations

LET THE CHILDREN BE CHILDREN AND GO LOOK BIG WOMAN!!!

REAL FRIENDS NEVER CHANGE

At times our inspirations comes from the most unexpected places.

"Real friends never change" This was the title of a party that was held in Pittsburgh recently a party that I told people to attend, one that I wasn't planning on attending, one that I honestly never took the time to read the flyer thoroughly enough to even notice how true and inspiring the title was.

To be honest I didnt even notice the title.

Lets think about this for a minute:

REAL FRIENDS NEVER CHANGE

I'm sure if we all think about this we may come up with different interpretations of this bold statement, we may not all even agree with this statement.

I think you cannot be too literal when brainstorming this.

Everybody changes, You are not the same today as you were 10 years ago and to be quite honest if you were it would mean that you haven't progressed. So change when it comes to people is as inevitable as aging and dying.

So it would be an accurate statement if I say "All friends change" (which would seem contradictory to my title)

So let us elaborate on our title and say "ALL FRIENDS CHANGE BUT REAL FRIENDS REMAIN FRIENDS IN THE MIDST OF ALL THE CHANGES"

I started my career in music about 6 years ago and a DJ who could barely mix who was too shy to talk on the mic, Today I am known by many, I have played music in many places all over the world, I can mix, MC and keep a party moving by myself and I even have song songs that get rotation in dancehalls all over the world.

Have I changed ?? Hell Yeah!!!!!!!!

Do I consider myself successful? Not by any stretch of the imagination because I have a long way to go to achieve my goals

Am I hype? I don't think so (But I am very confident and I'm sure there are people who would disagree with me)

Think about yourself... Think about your present situation and your situation 6 years ago

Think about the people who claimed to be your friend during that time period

Today a lot of those people you wouldn't say are your friends

Those people are not your friends today because they were never really your friend at all

REAL FRIENDS NEVER CHANGE even though ALL FRIENDS CHANGE because REAL FRIENDS REMAIN FRIENDS IN THE MIDST OF ALL THE CHANGES
